The Life and Times of Kelly Victoria Ariel Combs: A Sonnet

At four: enrolled in junior ballet class—

The teacher pulled my mom aside to say,

“Though peewee ballet is not fail or pass,

You can’t just mug the mirror and sashay.”

At twelve: a full-blown horse girl, smell and all.

(Well, horse gymnastics, circus-level moves)

The order of explaining this is tall;

I can’t say more than what this picture proves:

At twenty-two: surviving the actor’s dream;

Finding my tribe and voice in harmony.

It’s not as glamorous as it may seem,

Flat broke auditioning for beer money.

At [age redacted]: a babe in the ad woods!

Crafting the service of delivering the goods.
